《窦娥》 The Story of DouE

窦天章将幼女窦娥卖给蔡婆家为童养媳。蔡婆外出讨债时遇张驴儿母子，被其胁迫。张驴儿企图毒死蔡婆霸占窦娥，不料误毙其母。窦娥为蔡婆顶罪，被判斩刑。三年后窦天章任廉访使，为窦娥伸冤。

Dou Tianzhang sold his little daughter to Cai Po as a child-wife. When Cai Po demanded Zhang Lv’er and his mother the repayment of the loan, she was coerced to give up the money. Zhang Lv’er tried to poison Cai Po and compell Dou E to be his wife, but accidentally killed his mother. Dou E was sentenced to be decapitated for poisoning Zhang Lv’er’s mother. Three years later, Dou Tianzhang was assumed to be the official supervising the local official and he acclaimed ignorance for Dou E.
