INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION FESTIVALS
HANGZHOU SUMMIT

The year of 2006 saw the debut of the International Animation Festivals Hangzhou Summit held on the shores of the West Lake during the 2nd International Cartoon and Animation Festival. Impressed by the cityscape and the grandeur of the Festival, participants marveled at “the most innovative undertaking set in the world’s most beautiful place”. It is a brainstorming meeting especially for international cartoon and animation giant associations and organizations.

In 2008, the organizing committee composed the Hangzhou 21st Century International Cartoon and Animation Festival While Paper and the Hangzhou World Animation Festival Mutual Benefit Manifesto in the Summit.

In 2010, Hangzhou Summit drew participation of 13 international festivals from 12 countries and focused on a more intensive exchange and cooperation among all participating festivals to promote the common development.

In 2012, Hangzhou Summit got a profound development. CICAF has established the Mutual Cooperation Agreement with 7 festivals from 5 countries, such as: France, Hungary, Canada, Italy and South Korea, etc. This MCA stipulated and signed the cooperation on the exchanging of mutual visiting, film screening, booth exhibition, competition, and talents, etc. And the Summit participants are: Association International du Film d’Animation (ASIFA), Annecy Animation Festival, Ottawa International Animation Festival, Future Film Festival, Kecskemet Animation Film Festival, Animafest Zagreb, Film Auckland, European Animation Center, Asia Content Entertainment Fair, etc.
